  • Resume PDFs: When you upload a resume PDF, we temporarily process it to tailor it to job postings. The original uploaded PDF is not permanently stored on our servers and is deleted immediately after processing.
  • Job URLs: We collect job posting URLs that you provide to tailor your resume.
  • Account Information: If you create an account, we collect:
    • Email address
    • Username
    • Password (encrypted)
    • Any other information you choose to provide in your profile

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: We collect information about how you use our Service, including:
    • Request timestamps
    • IP addresses
    • Browser type and version
    • Pages visited
    • Time spent on pages
  • Cookies: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies. See Section 8 for more details.

2.3 Information Generated by Our Service

  • Tailored Resumes: We generate tailored resume PDFs based on your original resume and job postings. These tailored PDFs are stored for 90 days to allow you to download them.
  • Request History: We maintain a record of your requests, including:
    • Request IDs
    • Timestamps
    • Job URLs processed
    • Costs and token usage
    • Processing times

    This data is retained for 90 days.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Service Delivery: To process your resume tailoring requests and generate tailored resumes
  • Account Management: To create and manage your user account
  • Payment Processing: To process payments for credits through Stripe
  • Service Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve our Service
  • Communication: To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws and regulations

4. AI Processing and Third-Party Services

4.1 OpenAI API

Your resume data is processed using OpenAI’s GPT models (including GPT-4o) to:

  • Extract information from your resume
  • Analyze job postings
  • Generate tailored resume content
  • Calculate resume-job matching scores

Important: When you use our Service, your resume content and job posting information are sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI’s use of your data is governed by their Privacy Policy: https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy

We do not use your data to train OpenAI’s models. Data sent to OpenAI is used solely for processing your specific request.

4.2 Other Third-Party Services

  • Render.com: Our API is hosted on Render.com. Your data may be stored on Render’s servers. Render’s Privacy Policy: https://render.com/legal/privacy-policy
  • Stripe: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. Payment information is processed according to Stripe’s Privacy Policy: https://stripe.com/privacy
  • WordPress Hosting: Our website is hosted on WordPress. WordPress’s Privacy Policy applies to hosting services.
  • Future Analytics: We may use Google Analytics or similar services in the future. If implemented, we will update this policy and provide opt-out options.

5. Data Storage and Retention

5.1 Data Retention Periods

  • Uploaded Resume PDFs: Not stored permanently. Deleted immediately after processing (typically within minutes).
  • Tailored Resume PDFs: Stored for 90 days, then automatically deleted.
  • Request History: Retained in our database for 90 days, then automatically deleted.
  • User Account Data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted upon account deletion (see Section 7).

5.2 Data Storage Locations

  • Primary Storage: Data is stored on servers located in the United States (Render.com hosting)
  • Backup Storage: Backups may be stored in additional locations for disaster recovery
  • WordPress Storage: Tailored PDFs are stored on your WordPress hosting provider’s servers

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information:

  • Encryption: Data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
  • Access Controls: Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only
  • Secure Storage: Databases and files are stored on secure servers with access controls
  • Regular Updates: We keep our systems updated with security patches

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
