This AI and Data Processing Disclosure explains how TailorMyResume (the “Service”), operated by Artem Rusetskyi, uses artificial intelligence (AI) to process your data. This disclosure supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

By using our Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood how AI is used to process your information.

2. AI Technology Used

2.1 OpenAI GPT Models

Our Service uses OpenAI’s GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) models, including:

  • GPT-4o: For resume parsing, job posting analysis, and resume tailoring
  • GPT-4o-mini: For faster processing when appropriate
  • GPT Vision: For analyzing resume PDFs and extracting information

2.2 How AI is Used

The AI processes your data to:

  1. Resume Parsing: Extract and structure information from your resume PDF
  2. Job Analysis: Analyze job postings to identify key requirements
  3. Content Generation: Generate tailored resume content optimized for specific job applications
  4. Scoring: Calculate resume-job matching scores

2.3 AI Processing Flow

When you submit a resume and job URL:

  1. Your resume PDF is converted to images and text
  2. The resume content is sent to OpenAI’s API for parsing
  3. The job posting is analyzed using OpenAI’s API
  4. AI generates tailored resume content based on both inputs
  5. The tailored resume is rendered as a PDF
  6. Results are returned to you

Processing Time: Typically 15-30 seconds, but may vary based on:

  • Resume complexity
  • Job posting length
  • API response times
  • System load

3. Data Sent to OpenAI

3.1 What Data is Sent

When you use our Service, the following data is sent to OpenAI:

  • Resume Content:
    • Text extracted from your resume PDF
    • Images of your resume pages (first page only)
    • Personal information contained in your resume (name, contact details, work history, education, skills, etc.)
  • Job Posting Information:
    • Job description text
    • Job requirements
    • Company information (if available)
  • Metadata:
    • Request timestamps
    • Processing instructions

3.2 What Data is NOT Sent

We do NOT send to OpenAI:

  • Your account password
  • Payment information (handled separately by Stripe)
  • Your email address (unless contained in your resume)
  • Other account information not contained in your resume

3.3 Data Retention by OpenAI

According to OpenAI’s policies:

  • API Data: OpenAI does not use data sent via their API to train their models
  • Data Retention: OpenAI may retain API data for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring
  • No Training: Your data is not used to improve or train OpenAI’s models

4. AI Limitations and Accuracy

4.1 AI-Generated Content

Important: AI-generated content may:

  • Contain errors or inaccuracies
  • Miss important information
  • Generate content that doesn’t perfectly match your experience

You are responsible for:

  • Reviewing All AI-Generated Content: Always review tailored resumes before using them
  • Verifying Accuracy: Ensure all information is accurate and truthful
  • Editing as Needed: Make any necessary corrections or additions
  • Not Misrepresenting: Do not use AI-generated content to misrepresent your qualifications

4.3 No Guarantees

We do not guarantee:

  • That AI-generated content will be 100% accurate
  • That tailored resumes will result in job offers or interviews
  • That AI will capture all relevant information from your resume
  • That the AI’s interpretation of job requirements is correct

5. Data Security and Privacy

5.1 Security Measures

We implement security measures to protect your data:

  • Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Secure API: Communication with OpenAI uses secure API connections
  • Access Controls: Limited access to data processing systems
  • Temporary Storage: Resume PDFs are processed temporarily and deleted

5.2 Data Sharing

Your data is shared with:

  • OpenAI: For AI processing (as described above)
  • Render.com: For hosting our API (data stored on their servers)
  • WordPress Hosting: For storing tailored resume PDFs

We do NOT:

  • Sell your data to third parties
  • Use your data to train our own AI models
  • Share your data with advertisers
  • Use your data for purposes other than providing the Service

6. Your Rights Regarding AI Processing
